Vivian Lake from Salt Creek Falls

*Update 7/21* Air quality may be poor. I’ll let everyone know by Friday if the destination will change - most likely the coast. Keep checking back.

We’ll start at Salt Creek Falls and hike up the left side past "Too Much Bear" Lake, then stop at Fall Creek Falls and then on to Vivian. On the return we'll loop via Diamond Creek Falls back to Salt Creek.

Route: the first 2 miles are moderate, but the 2nd half (2 miles) is strenuous. Lunch stop at the lake depends on mosquito activity (so far light this season) and if lucky, hikers are welcome to swim. Bring mosquito repellent, perhaps a head net just in case. Must be in good shape, the pace will be moderate.

Suggested carpool donation: $13.00. If you can drive please be sure to enter how many passengers you can take.

Trip Report

12 Obsidians made the trek to beautiful Vivian Lake from Salt Creek Falls. Blue skies, moderate temps and no mosquitoes made for a perfect day! We stopped briefly at Fall Creek Falls then on to Vivian, where we had lunch and a few went for a quick swim. On the way back, we viewed Diamond Falls before returning to our cars.
