Description:

This is a road trip, no great views. This trip is good for those new to snow shoeing or those who want to get a little exercise in the snow. I am opening this trip to those new to xc-skiing, it is a good place to practise basic skills without worrying about tree wells and the other narrow trail hazards. This road is also open to snow mobiles so no meditation in the silence of the woods.

Trip Report

Six with snow shoes and one with skis we took off for Waldo Lake Road with some concern for the conditions we would find. No problem, a little packed snow and ice on the road and 6 to 8 inches of new snow on the ground. We were able to make use of the snow mobile tracts to ease our way after giving everyone a chance to break trail. We had overcast sky's and light to moderate snow fall through out the trip. No melting snow or rain to interfer with a good day
