Trip Report

Carrying trash bags and shovels, we worked around each of the four lakes on the Betty Lake Trail. We found a few established fire rings to clear out and reset, and several small ones to disperse. The trash was surprisingly sparse - mostly unburned foil and cans in the fire rings. It is encouraging to know that most campers are concerned about leaving a clean site. Our intensive work in the same area last year paid off. It was a beautiful, lazy day so we did not complain about the work not being very strenuous. This was the first Wilderness Rehab for Gladys Grancorvitz, Audrey Malloy and Velma Shirk. Leader was Betty Macy.
