Weed Warriors Cascadia Day Use – Stewardship

Description:

Please meet at Safeway, 1891 Pioneer Pkwy E, Springfield for a 7:45 am departure.
The Weed Warriors work at Cascadia Day Use area on highway 20 east of Sweet Home project is blackberry and English ivy cut back.
We will have some tools for use. Feel free to bring your favorite metal rake, cutting, pickax or digging tool.
Don't forget your PPE (hardhat, thick gloves, thorn resistant pants, boots and glasses). We have hardhats and glasses if needed. Also, bring water and snacks.
After 3 hours working, we can have lunch and hike to nearby Lower Soda Falls <2 miles.

Trip Report

Stewardship opportunities abound. This event was located at Cascadia Park along the South Santiam east of Sweet Home. Ongoing work continues to remove invasive blackberries and English Ivy. Dave Cooper and Jean Harris worked with Beth, the leader of the weed warriors for Cascade Volunteers. Every opportunity to reclaim this beautiful setting is a plus.<br />
