Trip Report

Four of us carpooled together to our backpacking beginning near Cultus lake.

With blue sunny skies above us and happy feet on duff trails below, we traveled 6 miles along lakes, spying beaver dams, many mushroom sproutings, and an old cabin along the way, to our campsite at Winopee Lake. Clear night skies showed the Milky Way and millions of stars, while our campfire let us commune and keep warm with dinner. We began day 2 watching fog drifting on the lake and ducks on the lake testing flight patterns before we headed for a 6 mile loop hike along the Snowshoe lakes and the PCT. We enjoyed socializing w/ a campfire , shared snacks and fresh baked dessert .

We woke to a soft mist near daybreak that barely wet the ground, as we packed and moved out. Again sun and blue skies blessed our hike to the car, and it was another perfect Oregon outing!
