Description:
View the magnificent 70-foot blue whale skeleton. Meet at 10:00am at the entrance to the Visitor Center, Hatfield Marine Science Center, South Beach, Newport, OR. We will tour the Center for an hour ($5 donation) and then walk over to the adjacent Gladys Valley Building to meet our guide, marine biologist Lisa Ballance, for an introduction to the breathtaking blue whale skeleton on view. Afterwards, we will drive to Nye Beach for lunch at Nana's Irish Pub. Following lunch we will take a hike on the beach. If time permits, we will visit the Newport Maritime Museum (price determined by number of group participants). high tide: 12:25pm; low tide: 4:54pm
