Description:

For this month's outing we'll be working on trailhead improvements for the Wild Iris Ridge Trailhead. Our tasks will include string trimming along the fence, cutting back blackberries, and cleaning the kiosk.

Meet at the Wild Iris Ridge parking lot, the gravel lot on Bailey Hill Road. Work party goes from 5:30-8 pm.

Trip Report

Our group met at the Wild Iris Ridge trailhead parking lot for some general trailhead improvements. We broke into several small groups to focus on our tasks. Tom and Eamon washed and cleaned the kiosk, signs, and porta-potty enclosure. Nathaniel and Fletcher picked up trash before snacking on blackberries and joining the others clearing brush from the fence lines. Denise, Pat, Janet, Dan, and Matt worked to manually and use string trimmers to cut back brush, mostly blackberries from the fences. We worked until a good stopping point and then enjoyed snacks provided by Janet.
