Trip Report

We started from the north end of the Greenway Bridge riding north past three of the Delta Ponds and noted some Western Pond turtles sunning on a log. We continued to the north end of the loop at the Owasso Bridge and then back past the south end of the Greenway Bridge to the Campbell Center. From there we passed the old EWEB complex, crossed the Autzen Bridge and rode along the Willamette River to Island Park. We made a brief stop at the historic RR station in Springfield, then followed the new Mill Race Trail out to Clearwater Park for lunch. On the return, we stopped to photograph some wild flowers and the industrial area north of the Mill Race. At the I-5 bridge we rode along the Canal Path, through Alton Baker Park and back to the starting point. A cool breeze throughout the day made this a pleasant and easy 25 mile trip.
