Description:

Join me on Super Blood Moon 2019 hike: This rare event will be sighted on January 20-21, the last total lunar eclipse till 2021. Eclipse occurs when Moon and Sun are exactly aligned with the Earth as midpoint (in syzygy). Residual atmospheric light then refracts, creating crimson Blood Moon. Syzygy can only occur during a full moon: this one occurs during the full moon of January, known as the Wolf Moon. (Partial Eclipse begins 7:34PM, Full Eclipse begins 8:41PM, Maximum Eclipse 9:12PM, Full Eclipse ends 9:43PM, Partial Eclipse ends 10:50PM). Please arrive few minutes earlier for sign-in. We will leave 8:00PM from Martin Street trailhead.

Dear moon-gazing friends,
Sadly, I am cancelling tomorrow’s Wolf Moon Night outing due to forecasted 98% of cloud cover.
Next such event will be May 26, 2021.
See ya!
