Description:

Convenient short drive. Rainy morning walk through the local park, good trails, muddy woods, and along the Fern Ridge Reservoir.

Trip Report

It rained happily on all of our 3.6 miles, but who cares.
We jumped over streams, walked through swamps, explored clay shoreline and mossy trails.
Rough-skinned newts roamed the fields covered with brown leaves and mushrooms. Randy, our local ornithology expert, pointed to scrub jays, golden crowned sparrows, and spotted towhees.
We returned home by noon.
