SUMMARY:Belknap Crater Stargazing
DESCRIPTION:Drive from Eugene to PCT trailhead at McKenzie Pass. Afternoon PCT hike to the base of Belknap Crater (6\,300 ft.) in Mount Washington wilderness. There we will set tents and then hike to the top of Belknap Crater (6877 ft.) where we will stay for couple of hours to watch stars. It will be first night of Waxing crescent (Visible: 3%) so\, almost pitch dark and ideal for stargazing if no clouds. Later\, that same evening we will descent back to our base camp for good night. Saturday\, after the breakfast we will break our camp\, and hike to nearby Little Belknap Crater where we’ll explore lava tubs. Hike back to trailhead and return to Eugene Saturday PM.

SUMMARY:Broken Top
DESCRIPTION:Broken Top is a gorgeous climb\, I think the prettiest in Oregon by far. It has a long\, but beautiful hike in\, then a fun\, slightly exposed ridge\, then we put our harnesses on and do a little bit of climbing with a LOT of exposure. Fun\, fun\, fun.\nTo climb Broken Top you need to be in excellent hiking shape and very comfortable with exposure. That 17 mile round trip is no joke.\nYou have the choice of driving over to the trail head the night before or the morning of the climb. We’ll hike away from the trailhead at 4:30 or 5am. Meetup/Departure Location: TBD
