SUMMARY:Women's Twin Lakes Canoe/Kayak
DESCRIPTION:Over 3 days we willl be exploring several lakes off of the Cascade Lakes Highway: North & South Twin Lakes\, Hosmer Lake\,  Sparks Lake\, and perhaps the Deschutes River. The Twin Lakes Resort located on South Twin Lake will be our headquarters. We have reserved cabins 2 & 3; view them at https://twinlakesresort.net/accommodations/cabins \nThe trip fee covers the cost of the lodging and the Obsidian trip fee.  Dinners will be potluck style. Online signup for members will begin on June 23. (Non members can sign up starting June 26).  The payment of $90 (members) must be mailed within five days of sign-up to: Emily Rice\, 1615 E. 43rd Ave.\, Eugene OR 97405. Cancellations on or before August 15 will forfeit $15. Cancellations after August 15 will receive a $70 refund only if the space is filled by another person.  A pre-trip meeting will be held the week before the trip to discuss carpooling\, schedule\, food\, etc.\n Meetup/Departure Location: determined at the pre- trip meeting

SUMMARY:Amazon Hdwtrs/Spencer Butte
DESCRIPTION:If this is your first time on this Obsidian hike and/or if this is first time you have hiked up Spencer Butte from the lowest elevation\, you may want to call the leader to discuss the pace.  It is a conditioning hike where everyone is challenging themselves to go at a moderate or fast pace. —not like the other hikes on our schedule.   If you have questions\, email summertrips@obsidians.org. Every Wednesday we do this hike from the Martin Street Trailhead to the summit of Spencer Butte.  Compared to starting at the paved Spencer Butte parking lot\, this hike has double the climbing and three times the distance. A great way to get and stay in shape.  Registered guests are welcome.\n   To get to the trailhead: Take West Amazon to Martin Street. Turn left. Drive past Kinney Park and park Martin Street near the Kiosk sign board across from Canyon Drive Street sign with hiker symbol. Please call the leader if any questions. One can take LTD Bus #28 to Martin Street. \nTo get to the trailhead: Take West Amazon to Martin Street. Turn left.
