DESCRIPTION:We have a permit for five nights starting April 30 for the Escalante Route. The “official Obsidian hike” only includes on-trail start to finish. Travel and associated lodging are on your own. \nIf for some reason anyone signed up is unable to go\, we may invite someone from the wait list. Due to the nature of the trip\, approval by both the trip leader and other participants will be required. \nThis hike is more demanding than what we did the past two years.

SUMMARY:Marys Peak
DESCRIPTION:We will drive to Junction City headed for Philomath and the Woods Creek Road to the North Ridge Trailhead #1350 (elevation 1300ft. ) It is 4.4 mile up to the day use Observation Point /parking lot and another .6 miles to the top of Marys Peak (3750 ft). We should start the hike around 9:30/9:45.  The pace will be a steady moderate/slow moderate.  Optional: The group could decide to descend to near Conner’s Camp and then walk the road through the Corvallis watershed back to the cars.

DESCRIPTION:Meet at the lowest level of the parking lot down from the fee box.   You will not have to sign your name on the sign up sheet. I’ll check you in. There will be a bag where you can drop your money. The current plan  is to take back trails\, probably 4 and 2 to the summit avoiding the crowds on the main trail.  Watch for updates.
