SUMMARY:Columbia Gorge Hiking
DESCRIPTION:Three days\, 2 nights at the beautiful Menucha Retreat and Conference Center (www.menucha.org) which sits on a bluff above the Columbia River in Corbett.  We will be staying in 2 houses on the property with single beds for all who desire.  Bedding\, towels and meals are included for $185 Members and $190 NonMembers. Pre-trip meeting will be at the lodge on Mon. April 20 at 6pm where various hikes\, car pooling and rooms addressed. Sign-up starts on Sat.\, Feb 29 at 7AM for members; Tues\, March 3 for non-members.  \nWithin 5 days of signing up\, send a check payable to the Obsidians to Chris Shuraleff\, 34790 Matthews Road\, Eugene\, OR 97405.  The payment is non refundable unless your place is filled by someone else

SUMMARY:Amazon Hdwtrs/Spencer Butte
DESCRIPTION:If this is your first time on this Obsidian hike and/or if this is first time you have hiked up Spencer Butte from the lowest elevation\, you may want to call the leader to discuss the pace.  It is a conditioning hike where everyone is challenging themselves to go at a moderate or fast pace. —not like the other hikes on our schedule.   If you have questions\, email summertrips@obsidians.org. Every Wednesday we do this hike from the Martin Street Trailhead to the summit of Spencer Butte.  Compared to starting at the paved Spencer Butte parking lot\, this hike has double the climbing and three times the distance. A great way to get and stay in shape.  Registered guests are welcome.\n   To get to the trailhead: Take West Amazon to Martin Street. Turn left. Drive past Kinney Park and park Martin Street near the Kiosk sign board across from Canyon Drive Street sign with hiker symbol. Please call the leader if any questions. One can take LTD Bus #28 to Martin Street.

SUMMARY:Mt Pisgah Sunset/Moonrise
DESCRIPTION:Look for us by near car a row or two down from the fee box. Sunset is 8:22 and the moonrise is 7:43. I plan to take trail 17 and 3 or 4 to catch the main trail to the summit. We will take the main trail (#1) back to the parking lot. Email the leader or summertrips@obsidians.org if you have questions.
