SUMMARY:Obsidian Grand Tour
DESCRIPTION:This is another hike that requires a limited entry permit and as such is limited to 10 participants.  There is an additional fee of one dollar per person to cover the cost of the permit.  This is one of my favorite hikes as it covers all the best viewpoints of the Obsidian area.  We’ll start at the Obsidian trailhead then head West on the Scott trail to Four-in-one Cone where we’ll head to the top.  From there we’ll join the PCT and head South past Minnie Scott Springs for a water stop then on to Opie Dilldock Pass then a side trip to Collier Cone viewpoint for a lunch stop.  After lunch we’ll continue on the PCT to Glacier Creek Spring where we’ll again leave the trail to scramble up to Arrowhead Lake for another break and a refreshing swim.  After our swim we’ll head down to Sister Springs where we’ll catch the PCT again\, head past Obsidian Falls\, then take the Obsidian Loop trail back to our trailhead.   \nParticipants will manage their own transportation. SUMMARY:North Umpqua Trail
DESCRIPTION:Day 1:  Meet at 3:30 PM at Shopko parking lot (Coburg Rd\, Eugene) Drive 2 hr. from Eugene to Panther TH.\nOn our trip south we will stop briefly in Colliding Rivers Park in Glide to stretch legs and see North Umpqua Ranger Station. Then we will continue 27 more miles to Panther TH (coordinates 43.305018\, -122.678796)\nEvening relax along the river. Night in vehicle or in tent.\nDay2:  After breakfast hike along N. Umpqua river to Calf TH and back. Total 7.5 miles\, 275 ft. Evening relax along the river. Night in vehicle or in tent.\nDay 3   After breakfast hike along N. Umpqua river to Mott TH and back. Total 9.9 miles\, 200 ft.\nDrive back to Eugene. (optional stop in Sutherlin for a dinner) \n>>Participants will manage their own transportation.
