SUMMARY:North Umpqua Trail
DESCRIPTION:Day 1:  Meet at 3:30 PM at Shopko parking lot (Coburg Rd\, Eugene) Drive 2 hr. from Eugene to Panther TH.\nOn our trip south we will stop briefly in Colliding Rivers Park in Glide to stretch legs and see North Umpqua Ranger Station. Then we will continue 27 more miles to Panther TH (coordinates 43.305018\, -122.678796)\nEvening relax along the river. Night in vehicle or in tent.\nDay2:  After breakfast hike along N. Umpqua river to Calf TH and back. Total 7.5 miles\, 275 ft. Evening relax along the river. Night in vehicle or in tent.\nDay 3   After breakfast hike along N. Umpqua river to Mott TH and back. Total 9.9 miles\, 200 ft.\nDrive back to Eugene. (optional stop in Sutherlin for a dinner) \n>>Participants will manage their own transportation. SUMMARY:South Sister
DESCRIPTION:Climbers will be expected to get themselves to the trailhead in time to start hiking at 05:00am Sunday. I will arrive Saturday evening and sleep at Devils Lake for our crack-o-dawn start.  I welcome others to join me.  Due to COVID\, we are not arranging or expecting carpooling.  The climb begins on a forest trail and eventually turns to lava and pumice followed by steep\, loose marbles on hard pack.  Sadly\, we may encounter mosquitoes\, but we are not likely to have much snow this late in the summer.  There may be an opportunity for a polar plunge\, so wear presentable undies if this interests you.  After our six mile assent\, we will have lunch on the top at the edge of the crater to enjoy views.  If all goes well\, we should be back in Eugene fairly early in the evening Meetup/Departure Location: Devil’s Lake Trail Head

SUMMARY:Mt Pisgah Sunset/Moonrise
DESCRIPTION:This is not my usual flexible sunset hike–It takes two hours and 15 minutes at a moderate space to get to the top!! We will take Trail 17 to Trail 4 DOWN to Trail 2 and then up 800 ft elevation on the east side. Sunset is 8:34pm.
