SUMMARY:Blanton Ridge to Spencer Butte
DESCRIPTION:This hike to the top of Spencer Butte takes the less traveled route from Blanton Road.  We’ll cross Blanton Ridge before continuing on from the 52nd and Willamette trailhead.   This option provides a good in town workout. \n To get to the trailhead from 29th & Willamette continue south on Willamette.  At Willamette/Donald St Intersection bear right on Willamette.  Immediately bear right again on to Crest Drive.  Follow signs staying on Crest for approximately 1.2 miles to the Junction with Blanton Road.  Turn left on Blanton.  The trial head is on your left in about ½ mile. \nAnother way to get to the Blanton trailhead is to go south on Chambers until it ends at Crest Drive. Turn left on to Crest.  In about ½ mile turn right on Blanton Road.

SUMMARY:Hendricks Park
DESCRIPTION:While it’s true that there is always something in bloom at Hendricks Park\, this time of year the gardens look positively tropical. There are so many colors of rhodies and perhaps some magcificent magnolias. We’ll meander\, so feel free to bring your camera. At this moment (4/27) there is a HUGE dogwood in bloom that looks like a snow-covered mountain. \nI’ll be having lunch at the shelter at 12:00 if anyone wants to join me. \nThe forest and its wildflowers beckon if anyone wants to add some milage at the end of the walk.
