We do this hike from the Martin Street Trailhead to the summit of Spencer Butte every Wednesday. Compared to starting at the paved Spencer Butte parking lot, this hike has double the climbing and three times the distance.

Ash Swale Shelter is nestled in a forested swampy area. Eagles Rest is a former lookout site at 3100 feet. This hike winds through various forest settings and climbs to a view point on Eagles Rest all just a short drive from Eugene.
