Registered guests are welcome.\n   To get to the trailhead: Take West Amazon to Martin Street. Turn left. Drive past Kinney Park and park Martin Street near the Kiosk sign board across from Canyon Drive Street sign with hiker symbol. Please call the leader if any questions. SUMMARY:Blanton Ridge to Spencer Butte
DESCRIPTION:☣️ !! We will keep distance 6’+ and use COVID-safe sign-in proceedures (explained at sign-in time) \nThis hike to the top of Spencer Butte takes the less traveled route from Blanton Road. We’ll cross Blanton Ridge before continuing on from the 52nd and Willamette trailhead. This option provides a good in town workout.. If the weather doesn’t co-operate we can forgo the exposed rocky steps near the top. \n To get to the trailhead from 29th & Willamette continue south on Willamette. At Willamette/Donald St Intersection bear right on Willamette. Immediately bear right again on to Crest Drive. Follow signs staying on Crest for approximately 1.2 miles to the Junction with Blanton Road. Turn left on Blanton. The trial head is on your left in about ½ mile. \nAnother way to get to the Blanton trailhead is to go south on Chambers until it ends at Crest Drive. Turn left on to Crest. In about ½ mile turn right on Blanton Road.

Please join us. \n3.13.2020 UPDATE: The health and safety of Oregon’s communities has always been a priority to SOLVE. Due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19\, our statewide Spring Oregon Beach Cleanup\, presented by AAA\, has been rescheduled for July 5\, 2020. SUMMARY:Exploring Croatia
DESCRIPTION:Poised between the Balkans and central Europe\, this rugged beautiful land has been passed between competing kingdoms\, empires and republics for millennia. If there is an upside to this continual disruption\, it’s in the rich cultural legacy that each has left behind. Venetian palaces snuggle up to Napoleonic forts\, Roman columns protrude from early Slavic churches\, and Hapsburg empire architecture faces off with Socialist realist sculpture. \nLong-time Obsidian\, Darko Sojak\, will present about Croatia and the region.

SUMMARY:Amazon Hdwtrs/Spencer Butte
DESCRIPTION:☣️ !! We will keep distance 6’+ and use COVID-safe sign-in proceedures (explained at sign-in time). We ask extra attention at the top to avoid hogging the area\, and ask you return down in smaller groups (to avoid the long train down the steps). \nIf this is your first time on this Obsidian hike and/or if this is first time you have hiked up Spencer Butte from the lowest elevation\, you may want to call the leader to discuss the pace. It is a conditioning hike where everyone is challenging themselves to go at a moderate or fast pace. —not like the other hikes on our schedule. If you have questions\, email wintertrips@obsidians.org. Every Wednesday we do this hike from the Martin Street Trailhead to the summit of Spencer Butte. Compared to starting at the paved Spencer Butte parking lot\, this hike has double the climbing and three times the distance. A great way to get and stay in shape. One can take LTD Bus #28 to Martin Street.
