The best way to get involved with the Obsidians is to take part in some of our activities.  If you are not ready to enroll as a member, it’s free and easy to create a ‘Guest’ account which will allow you to sign up for any of our activities.

We offer a wide variety of outdoor related activities for a variety of skill and fitness levels.  These include hikes, climbs, cross country ski trips, backpacks, bus trips and other outdoor sports.

Get Acquainted Hikes are usually offered the 2nd Saturday of the month. This is your chance to find out about the Obsidians, get acquainted with some Obsidians members, visit the Obsidians’ distinctive Lodge and hike along the Ribbon Trail.

Signup for an activity is usually enabled three weeks before a trip.  Some trips such as Summer Camp or Extended Trips may be available for sign up earlier.

The trip fee for guests is $5 for hikes and ski trips, $2.00 for urban hikes, and $15 for climbs. A car pooling donation to the driver of $0.11/mile if driving is involved is also suggested. Get Acquainted Hikes are free.
