John Miller is familiar with the saying, “It will never happen to me.” As a past member of Eugene Mountain Rescue and with 21 years as Search and Rescue Coordinator with Lane County Sheriff’s Office, he has a good amount of experience in dealing with unexpected scenarios. John is the current chair of the Obsidian Safety Committee and an avid outdoors person. He will present an interactive, fast-paced show-and-tell session, review items we should carry during our hikes, and discuss best uses. He will share some interesting stories and also cover a bit about home safety and how our changing climate may affect our home emergency preparedness. So, whether your pack is already set up for any emergency, you’re just not sure what you need to carry, or you want to beef up your safety preparations at home for you and your family, this presentation will be informative for all. |
