    We do this hike from the Martin Street Trailhead to the summit of Spencer Butte every Wednesday. Compared to starting at the paved Spencer Butte parking lot, this hike has double the climbing and three times the distance.

    Mount Thielsen Climb

      This is a climb up the west ridge of Mt Thielsen.  Participants need technical rock climbing skills.   NOTE: Obsidian members can sign up 30 days before the climb, non-members can sign up 2 weeks beforehand.

    Waterfall Trifecta and Bakery Stop

    Celebrate the first day of summer with a tour of some lovely waterfalls in close proximity to each other east of Cottage Grove.  

    Blanton Ridge to Spencer Butte

    A great in town workout. This hike to the top of Spencer Butte takes the less traveled route from Blanton Road.

    PDX Architecture, Oregon Historical Society, Powells

    This is a trip to Portland via Amtrak. We will visit the new PDX Terminal to experience the updated architecture, followed by the Oregon Historical Society, and then spend time at Powell’s Bookstore before returning via Amtrak. This will be a full day.
